Problem Note 32097: PROC METALIB does not register all available tables in a library
If you run PROC METALIB and have insufficient authorization rights for a particular table in the DBMS (for non–SAS libraries), or in the file system (for Base® SAS libraries), PROC METALIB will process until it encounters that table, and then will stop processing. In this circumstance, PROC METALIB will not register any tables beyond the offending table.
For example, if your user ID does not have SELECT permission on a DB2 table, instead of skipping that table and processing the remaining tables for which you do have SELECT permission, PROC METALIB stops and makes no attempt to continue evaluating the physical data.
The two known circumventions for this problem are as follows:
- Explicitly include, or exclude, tables using the SELECT or EXCLUDE statement in PROC METALIB.
- Grant the necessary permissions on all tables in the library.
